Warhammer Online New Class being added Page 2

Either way, I hope it turns out well and turns out soon, because the Greenskins feel the most incomplete out of them all.

Yeah sorry for my poor misinterpretation of the GameSpot blurb. At leas the EuroGamer seemed to make sense to me, and as you all cleared it up. Either way - I'm sure they'll make the right decision and get the right class in. As I said previous - I'm hoping for the Choppa.
I hope they 'axe' the Hammerer and replace it by the Slayer.
And I hope they will put in the Choppa. A savage and brutal type of Choppa (Big 'Un?). I can't think of a GW game with orks without an Ork that focusses on attack. I mean.. thats what orks do.

I think its good that Mythic is willing to be flexible rather than keep promising stuff that they can't make work.

Between the White lion, the Witch elf, the Marauder and the Witch hunter I really feel like they have their MDPS roll covered well. I wonder what new roll these guys will fill in for.

Obviously they have the mechanic mirrors for the BG and KoTBS and I can see fitting in another kind of tank much more easily.

Exciting stuff.
Mythic have done a great job so far, I'm sure whatever they decide it'll be for the best.
Having missed the closed beta, how would those that played the classes summerize them? Aka were they just tank types or what was it that you liked or didn't like about them? Playing and or fighting them? Just curious. It is also nice to see another race feel that they don't feel complete. I love the Empire but without a human tank I do feel lacking, but I LOVE my WH. TIA!
I never played closed beta and I THINK that info on Hammerer and Choppa may still be under NDA.

Anyway, all I know is that the Hammerer and Choppa were mirrors, and their mechanic was the Hammerer would fight and the longer he would fight, he would start building up momentum. I GUESS that's where a lot of his knockbacks were. Momentum yielding "Knocking people around" makes sense.

Choppa was more like a berserker. The more he fought, the more berserk he started becoming, attacking faster and more often and what not. Getting angrier. Whatever you want to say.

When I originally heard him talking about Hammerer and Choppa and that he was 100% about one, and not about the other, it made me really nervous. I want to play a Hammerer, and I bet you they're axing the Hammerer just because of how much knockback Order seems to currently have when compared to Destruction. Which sucks because I want to play one.

But at the same token, Black Guard is the Ironbreaker mirror, so you never know if they'll get the same long-distance knockback the Ironbreaker has.

Either way. I don't know if I want slayers in the game so early in production, but it won't matter much to me if they do put them in. In the end it sounds like they're going to wait and see how Knights of the Blazing Sun and Black Guard affect the game before they make any final decisions on what stays and goes between Hammerer and Choppa.
The Choppa and Hammerer were both melee dps careers, and mirrored to boot. For them to be considering looking at hacking one and keeping the other tells me that they didn't like the artistic aspect of one of the careers. Personally, I didn't care for either career, they each struck me as being "average." Choppas and Hammerers both represented the average member of their race (opinion), not special like the

black orc or bright wizard. Visually, neither of them ever impressed me much either.

So, if one is being kept and the other is staying, based on what I've seen I'm gonna guess the hammerer is being axed. Why? Visually, I imagine the Hammerer would be difficult to tell apart from an Ironbreaker. The armor options for the race are a bit limited and with their diminuative size, they need bigger variances in appearance to set them apart. So far each looks very distinct and I'm betting the Hammerer is bucking that trend. In addition, Mythic wants iconic careers and the Slayer is probably the most iconic there is for Warhammer. My money says the Slayer will be in and the Choppa stays...much to my chagrine. I'd much rather have a Savage Orc career.   I've seen enough armor on orc npc's that Black Orcs don't get that it has me figuring the artistic preparations are far more complete for the Choppa.

I'd, of course, love to be wrong and see something other than the Choppa added but I won't be holding my breath.
yea I would be thrilled to see Slayer as a class, and TBH I would seriously play them as an alt because I love that lore.
Plus it's how I play all games anyways so it's a good excuse to be a kamikaze pilot.

Yea neither career struck me as "wow!" much. I did hear that Choppa DPS was quite insane when built up, and hammerer did not have a build up so they weren't exact mirrors.

with Slayer they would be. Slayer could have a beserk easily, or making a seeking death meter where the more dmg you take, the more you put out.

Opposite of choppa more you put out.....well you put out more lol.

Or could be the same as well.

Only problem with slayers is, from the artwork Choppas/Hammerers look to be at least medium armor(chain link)
Slayers.....well don't really wear any armor and kinda want to die.

So what would you dress them in? In T1 no prob, T2, still not to bad.
T3-4, now there's armor look issues that need to be addressed.

I'm curious to see where they take the classes really.
I kinda don't want the slayer though, cause I would hate to get drawn to order.
Well for the Slayer armour, such as it is, you could really just add more tatoo's as the gear improves, that way you get to wear something that gives you the needed stat increases but without ruining the look of the armourless, death seeking, dwarf on a rampage. For the Choppa I'm not so sure but you could probably do something similar with adding skulls and other bone trophies to ornament the armour.
It would be cool to play a snotling, perhaps it would be more fun if Greenskins turned into snotlings instead of being "chickened".

Back on topic: Savage Orc vs. Slayer would be the most iconic match in my opinion, but I'm betting it's the Choppa that stays and the Slayer gets introduced for the Order side.

I parked my WaR subscription as well. I loved PQ's but if no one is around then they can become side road obstacles that now must be passed.

I found the PVE content to be pretty thin, the best/efficient way to level is RvR battlegrounds - you get multiple advantages, Realm exp, regular exp, far far better loot drops (from looting enemy players bodies), exp builds towards Armor Sets, etc.

Problem is that I found the battle grounds to be annoying and quickly felt like grind fests. Auto leveling players to help even the balance is nice but its still not enough to keep it fun/fair. Having 3+ levels plus abilities and then gear.... nope not balanced at all. You experience this first hand when you wade though opposing players as they desperately try to kill you 4v1 and fail...

As you and other players keep storming the beaches over and over in RvR maps, only in the end feels static and dull, a realm exp feeding trough. At around 20th level the exp gains slow way down - more time investment per level. Normally I would not mind this but WaR is built for endgame. Much like Dark age of Camelot. From this view point spending a lot of time leveling feels, well like a waste of time as you eagerly keep peering at 40th wondering "When".

The one part I did really like and still do was keep sieges, being in a mass zerg rush at a keep, while players defend it is good fun as long as you keep keep the hordes on both sides rolling. Keeping it fair and fun for all. Storming a keep with just NPC boss defenders is ok but its far more fun when enemy players come in to spice up the action.

Lastly for some fun I did see some Slaanesh priests at the big city of evil... hmm. They looked really cool with their rope whip hairdo's and tattoos. Also in the collectors art books saw more of the same demo art.

If they ever add that group as a playable class, that would definitely get my attention for a few months of leveling at least. I was thinking they would be like an enchanter class in EQ1. Buffs, debuffs, brain candy for the casters etc. Being a cloth wearing class they would need illusions or mirage to keep their survivability up. Lastly have them doing some kind of Slaanesh inspired dance with incense lol. Good fun!

I will keep my eye on WaR info but in the mean time I reactivated old scratch for WotLK. : ) The old rule still applies... in MMO's content is king. Without it, feels too thin for that amount of time investment.

Also quit playing. The game had so much potential, probably has the worst grind I have had to endure in a game. It is either Grind Scenarios, Grind Influence(since PQs are dead) or Grind horrible quest XP. This leaves you pretty much grinding only Scenarios since the rest of the game is a ghost town. I haven't looked this forward to a game in a long time. Major letdown.

I don't know about you guys, but I have already stoped playing this game. I think there isn't enough RvR to keep me coming back, and I have to quest and do scenarios over and over to lvl up. It's so annoying when you're heading towards an objective and see one enemy player that's 5 levels higher and you can't do anything, just wait for him to go away. I'm tired of this kind of games. Don't even think about WoW, for me it's a joke. Guess I'll just have to wait for Darkfall.
